No griddle I have ever purchased (and I have been through 4 of them - 3 high end non-stick, and one cast iron) comes close to this one. It is practically non-stick, but still works like a charm. Lately the quickest way for a piece of cookware to get the boot at my house is to warp with heat. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, right? I thought I had a good griddle, but that was before this Lodge cast iron griddle joined the family. Oh my...now THIS is a seriously well-behaved griddle. It is the perfect size and works beautifully with my glass cooktop. No warping...happy, happy cook. Don't be afraid of cast iron with a glass cooktop...just be careful and do not slide the griddle or try any fancy gourmet moves. I cannot rave enough about how much I love this griddle. When I think of the years wasted with a "good" griddle that wouldn't sit flat on my cooktop, I only wish I'd have found this Lodge griddle much, much sooner. I bought this griddle from amazon after a lot of research, and so far I am very happy with my purchase. I was done using non-stick pans for making rotis, what with the coating coming off and replacing them every 2 months. This product is perfect since as the other reviewers here have mentioned can be heated on high and the rotis turn out wonderful just like in India. I have yet to try dosa on it. Quality product, highly recommend. BTW, I am following the cast iron usage instructions to a letter this time so hopefully there shouldn't be any rust problems.Customer Review: Excellent product!

Like others have mentioned, this griddle is lighter than you would expect from a cast iron griddle. It works very well - food does not stick if you use some butter and keep the cooking temperature relatively low. Best of all, it does not have any harmful non-stick coating. We were so convinced by the other reviews that we went ahead and bought 2 of these and are grateful to fellow reviewers for taking some time for the benefit of others.
