Customer Review: Defective bolt hole
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this and had it shipped to Japan where I live- it looks lovely but one of the bolt holes at the base is too small for the bolt- I broke a file trying to file it open..and am too far away to exchange..

Customer Review: A Cast-Iron Jewel
Summary: 5 Stars

So many others have said it all so I won't belabor.

This grill is terrific. I use it on top of my Lodge Dutch Oven Table.

Lodge is quality.

Customer Review: Cast Iron Hibachi
Summary: 4 Stars

This item, although expensive in my mind, is high quality and works well. It is "cured" from the factory and can be set up and used in minutes. It is flexible in the ways you can set up the grill and it has a draft slide to control the heat. The only drawback is when you carry it with the wire handle, it isn't balanced well. It will likely last a lifetime unless left out in the rain.

Customer Review: Simple, Practical, Durable
Summary: 5 Stars

I am not a grill nut---I don't grill every day---but when I want to put salmon or a burger on the coals, I want a good product. This little beauty is simple, easy to use, and ultra durable. I expect to be using it for a long time. It is built solidly and works like a charm. The only negative I observe is that the feet it sits on will conduct heat and burn whatever it is sitting on, so user needs to put something down to protect deck.

Customer Review: Excellent little grill for 3-5 people
Summary: 5 Stars

We love our Lodge cast iron pans and dutch ovens so we decided to give this grill a chance. Yes cast iron is heavy but you can give it to your kids and they will hand it down to their kids.

This grill doesn't use a lot of charcoal, definitely less than my Weber kettle grill for the same amount of food. Warning, being cast iron it takes about 5 more minutes than a typical kettle type grill to get hot but once it is hot it stays hot for a long time. You can get a lot of mileage out of just a little charcoal.

I just leave the draft door off, I don't see the reason for it. I don't use the front loader door either. When I'm ready to cook I take off the grill and the grate and use a small shovel to scoop out the old ashes. I put the grate back and start the charcoal in a chimney type starter. Dump the coals when they are ready and put the grill on top. At this point I wait about 5 minutes to let the grill and grilling surface come up to temp.

My Weber will only get used for large parties now as this little grill is perfect for our family of three. Note: the grill cover that comes from Lodge is perfect. Others say it was too small but that problem must have been corrected.
